On Thursday 10th February, a group of Holme Grange students attended the Beyond COP21 Symposium at Eton College. The event is a global series of symposia, based around the post Paris and Sustainable Development Goals agendas, that started in January 2016. Over 400 pupils from ten schools took part in interactive discussions, exhibitions and debates exploring climate issues. The symposium also included guest speakers and networking from companies such as WWF-UK and United World Schools.
I really enjoyed going to the Beyond COP21 symposium. There were some really inspiring speakers who were obviously very passionate about the causes they were promoting/defending. One of my favourite speakers was Tara from Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots. Even though the overall climate crisis can be quite overwhelming, the main message was that we should have hope that together we are going to change the world.
